Hagiolatry Amulets - (#1 GLÅUGUST2026)
One of my in-game factions centres its devotion on hagiolatry, focusing on saints and their sanctified items. These are d6 saints amulets for #1 of GLÅUGUST 2026.
1. St. Calanthe, Daughter of the Sun
A large circular silver amulet, polished to a mirror-like finish, is worn around the wrist.
Calanthe was said to be a princess of an ancient Sun King. She refused her inheritance, left her royal life, and became an ascetic. As she wandered the continent, she grew disillusioned with the lies and mistruths that ruled law, truthfulness, and righteousness. Her life was devoted to changing this bitter truth.
St Calanthe’s amulet is said to dispel illusions and lies. When activated, the amulet instantly dispels low-level illusions and lies. High-level spells may make a save at 10+level.
2. St. Esmé Born of Hope
A small cross-shaped amulet with a crimson jewel in the centre, riveted to plate armour or worn as a large necklace.
Patron Saint of Armourers and Shieldmakers. Esmé was canonised at the age of 11, just after his death. Taken in by the pious monasteries of the Verdant Brow, he struggled to follow the monastic lifestyle. He could not read, write, or do many of the hard chores expected in the ecclesiastical establishment. Bullied by the other children and shunned by the monks and nuns, he was an outcast in every respect. When the nomadic peoples of the Cold Desert to the west were stirred by the fortunes the monastic traditions had hoarded, skirmishes became frequent on the edge of the Brow. When one of these raids came to Esme’s home, he took the blade of a mounted warrior protecting an elder monk, allowing him to escape with his life and many saintly tomes. From then on, he became a symbol of altruism, piety and hope.
St Esme’s amulet grants an armour class of [mail] and can be worn by spellcasters. If riveted by an armourer or blacksmith to plate or scale armour, it prevents the armour from being destroyed.
3. St. Eleutherius the Pellucid
This amulet resembles a silver spoon, with its handle curled into a spiral, making it unusable as a spoon.
Saint Eleutherius was known for their affinity to water. They went from village to village, cleansing wells after a wave of rodent-borne disease swept through.
Ladelling the water with this amulet allows the user to cast [purify water], clearing non-magical disease and poison from a water source. It also grants +2 on morale rolls against elemental water creatures.
4. St. Dawson, friend to the Moch Coed
A tarnished lead pinecone that looks like it shivers in the dark.
Never call St Dawson the Roach Saint. Never. The story goes that St Dawson brushed the area where he walked, sat, and slept. He was said to feed every insect, especially wood louse, as he usually slept on a mossy log. Those who call St Dawson the Roach Saint will find that they are cursed. Never use any relic belonging to St Dawson.
St Dawsons' amulet allows the wearer to speak only with isopods at will. If Saint Roach is mentioned, the amulet does not work for the speaker until the correct ablutions have been performed.
5. St. Myryn the Guide
A small compass carved from stone, with a little wooden arrow that moves clunkily.
St Myryn was a healer in a small hamlet, offering her services to passersby, when a local lord brought his wife to be healed of a deadly disease. She died within minutes of arriving at Myryn’s door. The lord blamed Myryn and exiled them, branding them before casting them out of their land. With this brand, Myryn was not welcomed anywhere, so had to wander the continent far and wide, and became familiar with all the lands.
This amulet allows you to determine whether a map is correct with a slight, warm buzz. It also grants +2 on rolls to avoid getting lost.
6. St. Sidonija
A tungsten tuning fork on a pewter chain.
St Sidonija is best known for collecting, writing, and promoting hymns of the church. It was rumoured they hand-wrote and performed 1089 hymns that are still practised today. Each song carries the stories of the saints and the tenets of their faith.
This amulet grants advantage on any roll that involves singing or songwriting.
